A restaurant manager reported that he was concerned about the conflict shared by 2 of his chefs. In fact, he was going so far as to attempt to schedule them so that they might not even overlap or see one another due to their animosity. They had been feuding for some time. The restaurant was gracious enough to have their employees wear Reconciliation Day buttons hand out information to guests. The wait and bus staff were excited and happy to do so. The manager shared with the Inter Faith Forum group that he noticed on Reconciliation Day that the chefs were not in the kitchen and was concerned because they had been scheduled together. When he went outside searching for them, he saw them hugging, tearful and talking to one another. Although the manager never investigated, he feels that Reconciliation Day was instrumental in bringing these to men together in harmony.
A young woman shared with an Interfaith Forum member that she had not spoken with her mother for over 3 years. As a result of reading the article in the Science of Mind Magazine, she called her mother and felt that the action has made a positive difference in her life.
A woman shared that she had a very conflictual relationship with her supervisor from a previous position. Although the woman felt she had performed as best as she could with little training, direction and support, she still carried negative feelings about this person. For Reconciliation Day, she decided to reflect on what positives had been accomplished during her employment with the supervisor and write a note to that effect in order to let go of the negativity. She reported that even though she never heard from the supervisor and probably never would, that she was able to look peacefully upon that time without anger or resentment and could, indeed, see the benefits of what she had learned.
"I sent Reconciliation Day letters of affirmation to all of my children and was thrilled by their responses."
